PLUS Loan for Graduate or Professional Students

Graduate or professional students are now eligible to borrow under the PLUS Loan Program up to their cost of attendance minus other estimated financial assistance.

Your first payment will be due within 60 days after the loan is fully disbursed. This will generally be while you are still in school.

  • The Graduate PLUS is available to graduate students. Parents are not eligible to borrow in the Graduate PLUS program.

  • Applicants for Graduate PLUS loans are required to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). They also must have applied for their annual loan maximum eligibility under the Federal Subsidized and Unsubsidized Stafford Loan Program before applying for a Graduate/Professional PLUS Loan.

  • Two documents are required to process a Graduate PLUS:

    1. Borrower must submit the Graduate Loan Amount Request and Release Form:

    2. Borrower must sign and submit the Graduate PLUS Master Promissory Note, unless the borrower is requesting an increase to an existing Graduate PLUS loan. For increases, simply print, complete and fax the Increase Request Form to 732-932-0523:

  • Credit Check approval required
