Renewal Process for Financial Aid
You will need a U.S. Department of Education PIN to complete your renewal FAFSA.
If you have forgotten your PIN, you can request a duplicate by going to the PIN Web site at www.pin.ed.gov and selecting the option "Request a Duplicate PIN."
Remember, your PIN gives you access to your personal information on the Web and also allows you to sign student aid documents electronically. To protect the confidentiality of your application data, you should never share your PIN with anyone, even if that person is helping you to complete your renewal FAFSA.
Students who provide an email address with valid syntax on their 2006-2007 records will be sent a Renewal Reminder email.
Students whose records do not have an email address with valid syntax or whose Renewal Reminder emails have been returned as undeliverable will be mailed a Renewal Reminder letter, provided there is a deliverable mailing address.
The Renewal Reminder letter replaces the standard tri-fold PIN Mailer, which was sent to renewal-eligible students in the past. The new letter format provides more detail about the renewal application process.
The federal processor will send only ONE Renewal Reminder
mid-January 2007.
