Renewal Process for 2009-10The renewal application process has been redefined for the 2009-2010 processing cycle. While the concept of a renewal application continues to exist, the option for a separate Renewal FAFSA on the Web has been discontinued. In addition, the term ‘renewal’ on Federal Student Aid web sites is no longer being used.New for 2009-2010, when a renewal-eligible student accesses FAFSA on the Web, he or she will be asked if they choose to “pre-fill” their application with data from last year. If the student agrees, the website will display a new application that is automatically filled with certain data from the prior-year FAFSA. Students who are not eligible for a renewal application are presented with an initial FAFSA on the Web application and will be prompted to provide answers to all required questions on the form. |
