Three types of financial assistance are available for summer session. Please review the information below to determine your eligibility for summer financial aid. We will begin to accept applications on April 1, 2008.
Pell for Eligible Undergraduates:
If you were enrolled less than full-time in the 2007-2008 academic year or did not enroll for the Fall 2007 or Spring 2008 semester and you received a Federal Pell Grant,
you may apply for the remaining portion of your Federal Pell Grant.
Federal Direct Stafford Loan Eligibility:
The annual loan limits for Federal Direct Stafford Loans are listed below. Have you already received the maximum amount allowed for your class level this year? View your 2007-2008 Award Letter online to determine if you are eligible to receive a Federal Direct Stafford Loan this summer. If you reduced or declined Federal Direct Stafford Loans in the 2007-2008 academic year,
apply to reinstate these amounts for summer session.

IMPORTANT: Undergraduates must be enrolled for a minimum of 4.5 summer credits to
receive Federal Direct Stafford Loans. Graduate students must be enrolled for a minimum of 3.0 summer credits.
Graduate Students admitted to programs which begin in the summer 2008 in Schools 15, 19, 22, 24, and 56 must file a
2008-2009 FAFSA: If you filed a 2008-2009 FAFSA, apply for summer aid.
For Rutgers Business School (Newark)
students enrolling in the Summer 2008 Professional Accounting Program or the Masters in Accountancy in Financial Accounting (MACCY) Program, please contact the Newark Office of Financial Aid once you have filed the 2008-2009 FAFSA application.
Private Loans: If during the 2007-2008 academic year you received the maximum amounts allowed for both the Federal Pell Grant and Federal Stafford Loan or you need to fund educational expenses for summer session, review the private loan options at studentaid.rutgers.edu/alc.asp.
Should you choose a private loan, make absolutely certain to specify either “Summer Session” or loan period start and end dates of 5-27-08 and 8-15-08, respectively, when completing the application to ensure the timely and accurate processing of your private loan.
